About Us

Formerly known as Murray Brown Electrical, Laser Electrical Blenheim has proudly served the Marlborough region since 1979. From humble beginnings, the business built a strong reputation for quality workmanship, reliability and practical, forward-thinking electrical solutions.

In 2001, Brendon Adams took the reins from Murray Brown and led the business into its next chapter by joining the Laser network. His leadership strengthened systems, service delivery and long-term sustainability, while maintaining the strong local relationships the company had become known for. We acknowledge and thank Brendon for his dedication and the solid foundation he helped build.

Today, Laser Electrical Blenheim continues that legacy under the ownership of Zane and Vanessa Monteith.

Zane began his electrical career over 25 years ago, starting his apprenticeship with Laser Electrical Pukekohe. In 2015, he and Vanessa made the move to sunny Blenheim with their young family, bringing with them a strong belief in community, hard work and dependable service. Zane joined the business as a Project Manager / Electrician, working closely alongside Brendon and gaining a deep understanding of both the team and the Marlborough market.

Vanessa joined the business as Office Manager in 2021, bringing her business management and customer service experience to strengthen operations, systems and client communication. Together, Zane and Vanessa worked closely with Brendon in a planned succession pathway and proudly took ownership of the business in 2024.

In their first year of ownership, they were especially proud to celebrate the loyalty and leadership of their long-standing team at the Laser Group Conference. Tim, who has been with the business for 16 years, and his brother Mitch, who has been part of the team for over 10 years, attended the conference — where Mitch was awarded Employee of the Year across the Laser network. Laser Electrical Blenheim was also named a finalist in the Safety & Wellbeing Award category, recognising the team’s commitment to maintaining high standards and looking after one another on and off site.

While locally owned and operated, Laser Electrical Blenheim is part of the wider Laser Group network. Established in Auckland in 1983, Laser has grown into a leading electrical and plumbing contracting network across New Zealand and Australia, with over 250 member companies employing more than 1,500 staff. As a member, we benefit from industry-leading systems, technology and support — allowing us to deliver consistent, high-quality service while maintaining a strong local focus.

Servicing Marlborough region including Blenheim, Picton, Renwick & surrounding Marlborough areas including the Sounds, we are ideally situated to service our customer base.  We provide a 24 hour a day, 7 day a week service and can assist you across these regions for electrical installation and maintenance and as arranged further afield for contracted work.   Our large team of electricians live and work in the region, providing services in an efficient and effective manner.
